MACEDON. Koinon of Macedon. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 25 mm, 11.58 g, 7 h), Beroea, time of Gordian III, 238-244. AΛЄΞANΔPOY Diademed and cuirassed bust of Alexander 'the Great' to right, cuirass decorated with eagle standing facing, head to left. Rev. KOINON MAKЄΔONΩN B NЄ Alexander on horseback to right, spearing fallen enemy; below horse, shield lying on ground. AMNG III/1, 705. RPC VII.2 online ID 66911 (3 specimens). Very rare. Patina stripped and with minor deposits on the reverse, otherwise, about very fine.
